Adsense monetization

The recent closure of the EVE construction software development programs JEVEAsseets and ISKPerHour inspired me to write this article. I pondered for a long time why the authors, after 10-18 years of developing and supporting these programs, decided to abandon their brainchild. And why do sites like zkillboard or dotlan exist and not even think about shutting down? You could even bring up the recent departure of the head of Pandemic Horde here, if you like the various theories and such. I thought for a long time, and then it dawned on me:

Adsense - monetization

The developers of JEVEAsseets and ISKPerHour were unable to monetize their creations. This may be because AdSense ads cannot be embedded directly into desktop apps. This can be achieved by developing an app for Google Play Store for phones, for example, using the same programming language, React Native.

But it's possible that the React Native language functionality or knowledge simply wasn't sufficient to port all the features that were in the desktop versions of the apps. On Google Play, you can monetize your apps through Adsense.

Why are Killboards and Dotlan still alive? It's clearly not because of 500 affiliate PLXs a month or enthusiasm. The creators of these resources simply bought a theme with Google Adsense advertising, and it's perfectly normal that they have the funds to support and develop their projects without even logging into EVE. Without monetization, they would have died out long ago, and we'd be playing EVE without a map and Killboards right now. Therefore, earning money from streams and videos, websites, and apps is perfectly normal.

What's good about Adsense?

1) Withdrawal. The easiest way to monetize your work online is very simple for Ukrainian developers or webmasters, and it's very easy to withdraw money into real money. Once you reach $100, you can withdraw funds, and within a few days or weeks, the money arrives on your card. Back in 2013, I had to wait 30 days for a $100 check to arrive from the States. Then I had to go to the post office and pick it up, take the check to the appropriate bank that cashes them, wait another 30 days, and then return to collect my hryvnias. It was a real hassle, unlike now.

2) Easy integration. It's automatically integrated into YouTube, and then there's Google's free Blogger website hosting, blogger.com. It's easy to add Adsense code to any website. It seems to be integrated into Play Market apps for phones, too.

What Makes a Profit

They won't tell you this on streams, but I can highlight three main directions using EVE as an example, which you can then apply to any games and themes by analogy. To keep things short:

1) Videos-Streams - YouTube Twitch, content is either informational or entertaining.

2) Websites and text - example Iv University, dotlan. Authorship and editing.

3) Applications, Calculators - an example of fuzzwork and various interactive tables, etc. Programming for calculating item recycling, for example.

If I were to describe everything now, the article would grow to many thousands of characters, and it would be disrespectful to the people who create EVE content and invest their time and effort into it. I wanted to demonstrate the principle itself, nothing more.

Interesting fact: React Native is a simplified language for developing mobile apps, which was created from ReactJS, which is the language Facebook is written in.
